Rack and pinion gears are infinite in diameter.\n\nIn other words, they are not in cylindrical form like other known gear forms, but in flat form, that is, they can be considered of as an iron rod.  Rack and Pinion Gears work with a pinion. The teeth of rack and pinion gears can be straight or helical.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Some of the advantages of a Rack and Pinion gear pair are simplicity of design and high load bearing capacities. There are also limitations despite the advantages of this design.
