Key Ways
Key Wayis used to prevent rotation on the shaft and assist in torque transmission when connecting gears or pulleys to shafts (Shafts) needing to run. The wedges are drilled into both the bore and the shaft.
Keyway is channels of various sizes, which are drilled into the holes in gear or pulley hubs. Wedge Channels do not have a specific usage area. It is used in all gears running on a shaft or machine parts used as fasteners.
